Easy maintenance

3. Typical Applications

Pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic and chemical industries, for conveying high-viscosity materials such as ointment, cream, syrup and paste.

Description

The cam rotor pump is a high-performance positive displacement pump engineered for the reliable and efficient conveyance of high-viscosity, non-Newtonian, and particulate-containing fluids across industrial sectors. Its core structure consists of two intermeshing cam-shaped rotors housed in a precision-machined pump casing; the rotors rotate in opposite directions, forming a series of sealed, fixed-volume cavities between the rotor lobes, casing, and end covers. As the rotors turn, these sealed cavities continuously draw in material from the suction port, transport it along the inner wall of the casing to the discharge port, and expel the material through the volumetric change caused by rotor meshing—achieving stable, pulse-free fluid transfer with a flow rate directly proportional to the rotational speed.

Designed with a low-shear operating principle, the pump minimizes mechanical shear and turbulence during material conveyance, effectively preserving the integrity of sensitive ingredients, suspended particles, and molecular structures of the fluid. This makes it an ideal choice for handling shear-sensitive and high-viscosity media (viscosity range typically from 100 cP to over 1,000,000 cP) such as pastes, creams, gels, slurries, and emulsions. The pump’s rotor and casing are fabricated from food-grade, pharmaceutical-grade, or industrial stainless steel (e.g., 304/316L) with a polished surface finish, ensuring compliance with strict hygiene standards (e.g., GMP) and preventing material adhesion or retention. Its seal system (mechanical seal, lip seal, or sanitary seal) is optimized for leak-proof operation, even under high pressure and high-viscosity working conditions.

In terms of performance and usability, the cam rotor pump features stable flow output, no priming required for self-priming capability, and strong adaptability to variations in inlet pressure and material viscosity. The modular structural design allows for easy disassembly, cleaning, and maintenance—rotors, seals, and wear parts can be quickly replaced without complex tools, reducing downtime for production lines. It is also highly compatible with variable frequency drive (VFD) systems, enabling stepless flow regulation to match different process requirements.
Widely applied in the pharmaceutical, food and beverage, cosmetic, and fine chemical industries, the cam rotor pump is used for conveying a wide range of materials including pharmaceutical ointments, syrups, herbal extracts, food pastes, sauces, jams, cosmetic creams, lotions, adhesives, and lubricating greases. It is suitable for various process links such as material transfer, batching, filling, and circulation, and can be integrated into fully automated production lines as a core conveying component, delivering consistent, hygienic, and efficient material handling solutions for industrial production.
